Notes from Bhavin Chauhan (1)

Understanding the current practices of teaching in present times are clearly indicators of the attitudes of teachers. Many (not most) of the teachers are interested in completing the syllabuses; but not to create love for the subject. They are quite adamant about it: My job is to teach English. I don't get pay for making that subject liked by the students. With this kind of attitude, the future of teaching is quite blur.

Today's scenario is quite different. Yesterday, information was the king. Teachers used to go to the class, spoke out the information and it was considered that teaching was done. Now the scenario is quite different.

Today experience is the king. How teachers make them feel about about their teaching to  the students, counts the most of the things. Today teachers are highly appreciated if they provide the better experience in the classroom.

So, consider this strange but true maxim:

Yesterday, teachers are the sellers of information; today they are the distributors of experiences.

NOTE: Feel free with the words like sellers and distributors. If teacher is drawing salary from the institutions, these words are not offensive. However, the task of teaching is much more beyond the task of sellers and distributors. Teaching is still and will be the divine profession.)
